“The World needs genuine witnesses to Christian ethics in the field of business, and the Church asks you to fulfill this role publicly and with perseverance.” Pope John Paul II, Address to Legatus.
Dear Potential Legatus (Boston Chapter) Members:
Legatus is the preeminent organization of Catholic Business Leaders. It was founded in May 1987 by Thomas S. Monaghan as has grown to over 60 chapters worldwide.
Tom’s inspiration in starting Legatus was two-fold:
Legatus’ Boston Chapter is an active community of Boston-based CEOs and other business leaders. Many of our members also are active participants as leaders and board members of Archdiocesan and parish initiatives. Cardinal O’Malley supports our organization and typically joins us for discussion annually.
Our main activity is a monthly meeting. Typically we meet on the third Thursday evening of the month in Weston. Our priest chaplains are available for Confession, then we gather for Mass, Dinner and a Keynote Speaker. We also have supplemental meetings for spiritual development, deeper study of current Church-related events/topics, or social gatherings.
Please review the attached membership criteria to determine whether you qualify for Legatus. If you are involved in a non-traditional business (where the criteria/titles don’t apply), please talk with one of the Chapter Officers.
To apply, you can fill out the linked hard-copy application (above) and provide it to one of the Chapter Officers or you can fill out an easy online application:

We look forward to hearing from you.
